Yesterday, we were feeding the horses up at my parent's house and while we were there Ian brought up the topic of Indians.....again. He's really been on an Indian kick lately and is fascinated by everything about them. He's even talked about wondering if he might find a dead Indian in grandma and grandpa's field because they used to live there. Well, just so happens that after he brought it up yesterday Cory kindof non-chalantly mentioned that Ian had some Indian blood in him. Cory's great Grandma on his Dad's side was a full Indian. WHAT THE?!?!? Ian started buggin'. He was so excited he started going a mile a minute talking about how that must be why his feet don't hurt when he goes outside without shoes. He continued talking the whole way home about all the possibilities this new information had just opened up for him. He's told every single person he's come in contact with since then. He told our neighbors, his teacher, the kids at school, Aunt Lacey and Braden. He can't wait for Grandma and Grandma to come home so he can tell them his 'secret' as he's calling it. He's such a proud little 1/16th Indian boy....

Well my young brave. You must go many moons before the spirits of the ancestors will give you all that you must have to continue on the straight red road. But be vigilant and strong and they will come....
Yeah, he was pretty darn pumped when he told me, made me smile. Now Braden keeps asking me if he's Indian, and I have to answer "Sadly dude, no, not at all...we are WHITE...as WHITE as a poor soul can get..." He isn't satisfied with that answer...
Cory's dad didn't even know that!!!!!!!!
Oh how I love that little Bug!!
That's why we love Ian. :)
How funny! Now he just needs a little bit of a tan, maybe some war paint and don't forget the bow and arrow!
Oh, he HAS the bow and arrow. Grandpa Marshall made him that last summer to add to his arsenal of weapons and costumes for make-believe.
I find it funny that Ken said he didn't even know that. So, are you saying that Cory was teasing and when Ian was so excited about it he didn't have the heart to tell him the truth, or does Ken not know his own genealogy! he he he
